The International Journal of Islamic Thoughts (IJITs), a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually by the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT)—the Bangladesh Chapter of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), USA., invites high-quality submissions for its upcoming issues. Dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse on topics relevant to the Muslim world, IJITs publishes original articles, review essays, book reviews, and research notes that engage critically with a wide range of Islamic and interdisciplinary subjects.

Scope and Areas of Interest: We welcome contributions from scholars, researchers, and practitioners on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Qur’anic and Hadith Studies
  • Islamic Ethics and Philosophy
  • Islam and Social Sciences
  • Islamic Civilization and Culture
    Islam and Literary Studies
  • Islam and Gender
  • Islam and Political Thought
  • Religion and Contemporary Crises
    • Curricular reform and neo-liberalism in Muslim education
    • Refugee education and education in crises
    • Digital colonialism and humanitarian aid
    • AI’s role in humanitarian crises
    • Social media and education
    • Addressing humanitarian service in education and society
    • Islamophobia and crisis perception
    • Inter-religious solidarity in global emergencies
    • Comparative theology, coexistence, and ethical pluralism.

Types of Submissions

  • Original Research Articles: Max. 4,000 words (excluding abstract and references); max. 20 references.
  • Review Articles: Up to 1,500 words (including references).
  • Book Reviews: Approximately 1,000 words.
  • Research Notes: Brief, original contributions advancing new ideas or methodologies; 1,000–1,200 words.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All submissions must follow APA citation style.
  • Each manuscript is subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
  • IJITs strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism. All submissions will be checked using Turnitin software.
  • Accepted papers will be published in the upcoming issue and made freely available under our open access policy.
  • Submissions are accepted year-round.

Publication Fee

IJITs does not charge publication or processing fees. The publisher, the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT), fully covers all costs.
